Cheltenham Concrete Driveways
Local Cheltenham GL50 Imprinted Concrete Contractors
Concrete is a great choice for Cheltenham driveways, especially if your new driveway is going to be regularly used with high footfall or vehicles. The single layer of concrete is extremely hard-wearing, which makes this a good option for most drives.
A concrete driveway in Cheltenham offers a very versatile surface, as it fits into nearly any shape or outline, especially areas that are difficult to cover using other paving types.
What is Imprinted Concrete?
We offer a 'Pattered Imprinted Concrete' driveway option in Cheltenham, which allows you to get the visual impact of paving, with the added strength of concrete. Once the concrete has been set to a specific hardness, we use a custom-made stamp to press a pattern into the top few centimetres of the surface. Ask us for examples of the patterns available.
How is a Concrete Driveway Laid in Cheltenham?
To create your concrete driveway in Cheltenham, the surface is fully dug down and prepared to the appropriate depth. Then concrete is then poured in to fill the surface, with the top level swept with a long flat bar, to ensure there is a smooth, even finish. An optional edging line can be imprinted around the driveway perimeter to really finish off the look.
Once the new concrete has fully cured, the attractive, low-maintenance driveway, path or patio surface is ready to be walked or driven on.
What's The Best Depth For Cheltenham Concrete Driveways?
On a regular Cheltenham driveway we would lay concrete to a depth of at least 100-125mm (8-10in), with the option of a thicker layer on areas for use by heavy vehicles. Patios or pathways that are only used by pedestrians or bicycles can cope with a shallower depth of 75-100mm, to save on costs.
